Rita Lester CYT is a Newfoundland and Labrador 'Community Based' Yoga Teacher offering classes in the St. John's & surrounding area and in Brigus Junction.

Since 1974 Rita has been practicing Yoga and since  1998 designing and delivering "Relaxation Yoga" to the local Community at large, Workplaces, Schools and Healthcare Settings for Mental Health.

Rita emphasizes the importance of  accessing the habit of Daily Mindfulness and Yoga Practice....  




 

             ABOUT RELAXATION YOGA 

Relaxation Yoga is the Practice of "Feeling Good" !!

Classes are Inclusive and Suitable for both Beginners and those with prior yoga experience.

Relaxation Yoga Incorporates Mindfulness, Hatha Yoga, Yin Yoga, Pilates and Somatic Exercise.

Regular Practice may assist in preventing physical and mental injury & if already injured may prove to be insightful and therapeutic.

Safety is Paramount. You are the Authority as to what you do and don't do in the class and guided throughout the class to only do what is right for you.

WHY POSES ARE DONE SLOWER...

  • To understand the purpose of the Movement/Posture and to ensure Safety.
  • To access Biofeedback and increase Body/Mind Awareness, Proprioception & Neuromuscular Facilitation.

The wave forgets the truth that it is ocean, thinking itself To be the grand shape, which it has temporarily taken. For a while, it takes on the rupa (form) of wave.Finally, it remembe rs its true rupa (form) of ocean. The two coexist, though one is true, and theother, though beautiful, is only relatively true. So too, we humans forget our true nature,but, through yoga, can remember.

The Aim of Yoga is to allow the Spirit to find it’s true nature as Observer of the world and its a Teacher of Yoga’s responsibility to guide the Student towards that mark..
